At your appointment, I take into consideration your skin type, texture, thickness and undertones. Then I look at your hair and brow color, asymmetries, face shape and bone structure. When deciding the technique (hair strokes, shading or combination) it will depend on your skin type and desired results. I prefer to make each set of brows as natural as possible and fitting to each clients face and needs.
During the appointment two strong topical anesthetics are used to keep you comfortable and relaxed. However, pain tolerance varies from person to person. After the session, once the anesthetic wears off there is slight tenderness and swelling.
After the session, the pigment will start to darken and oxidize. For the first 1-5 days brows will appear dark and bold. Once the pigment begins to flake and peel, it may appear patchy and spotty until all the skin has finished exfoliating. Following the pigment coming off, your brows will seem very light and muted. Over the rest of the healing period (4-6 weeks) the epidermis will normalize and the pigment will come back to the surface of the skin. The end result is roughly 40% lighter than the beginning of the healing process.
Healed brows will be different from client to client. Results can be affected by many variables including skin type, skin tone, skin thickness, colors used, medications, medical conditions, lifestyle, amount of natural brow hair, aftercare, bleeding, technique and more. Results are not guaranteed due to these variables. Initially you may experience a darker, crisp immediate result and when healed it will soften and lighten.
This is a two part procedure. The first session will lay down the groundwork for the shape and foundation of the brows. Due to the variables and every client healing differently, a touch up sessions is highly recommended 6-12 weeks for additional layering and completion of the brows. A third session is available to further achieve desired result, mainly depending on your skin type. To keep your brows fresh and looking their best, I recommend coming every 12-18 months to maintain.
If you have ever had your brows previously tattooed, please contact me via email and include photos before booking an appointment. I accept clients with previous work on a case by case basis.
As a precaution, I do not perform cosmetic tattoo services on women who are expecting or breastfeeding.
