Important Update Regarding Numbing for Tattoo & PMU Services

The Oregon Health Licensing Office has issued a new rule stating that tattoo and permanent makeup (PMU) artists are no longer allowed to apply or sell numbing products to clients. This includes permanent cosmetic tattooing services such as brows and lips.

However, this does not mean you cannot use numbing.
Clients are still allowed to apply their own numbing products prior to their appointment.

Please rest assured—this change does not prevent you from receiving beautiful lip or brow tattoo services comfortably. I am committed to making this process as simple, accessible, and comfortable as possible for every client.

If you have any questions or concerns about how this new restriction affects your appointment, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m happy to guide you through your options.

While this change is outside of my control, I sincerely appreciate your understanding. Most importantly, you can feel confident that your comfort during the procedure will remain a top priority.

For Permanent Make Up (PMU) appointments, you will now need to purchase your numbing product in advance.

Please use only the brand listed below. Using a different brand may affect your skin and could impact how the pigment heals and retains.

FOR LIPS

Recommended Numbing Product (Lips Only): TKTX

If you have any questions before purchasing, please reach out to confirm you are selecting the correct product.

Bella of course will give you tips on when to apply the numbing to ensure your comfort during the tattoo.
The choice to purchase numbing before your appointment or decide to not get numbed is completely up to you.

These new rules will take some time for us to get used to but overall will not change the beautiful brows and lips you wake up to every morning. Thank you all so much for sticking with me and allowing me to be your artist despite this challenge in our way.

I urge all clients or fans of PMU to contact the state board in regards to this decision. PMU is completely different from body tattoos and should be considered differently in regards to numbing restrictions. As many of you know, the usage of numbing is ESSENTIAL and makes the process of cosmetic tattooing comfortable and accessible for those who want or need these services. Making it nearly impossible to do our jobs without. Please help our industry and clientele fight this new restriction by reaching out!
